About the artist:
Valentina's paintings in oil excite and provoke the senses with bold, brilliant colors of strength and confidence. Artist Stephen Juharos wrote of Valentina's work that "she is able to get the first impression of a subject without being influenced by unnecessary details." Born in Russia, her early life was surrounded with beauty and culture, music, art and fashion. World War II shattered this life and for the next several years were spent fleeing the Nazi or in concentration camps. After finally being freed and coming to the United States, Valentina worked in a clothing factory to put herself through school. She eventually established a career in fashion design in New York and then Los Angeles. During this time she also wrote the novel "DOSVIDANYA". In 1965 Valentina's creative energy led her to painting in oil and watercolor. She studied with several artists and teachers developing her own impressionistic style. Today, despite great personal hardships she has had in her life, Valentina focuses on beauty, joy and harmony in her paintings of bold and brilliant color.
