About the artist:
Scott started out in ceramics and pottery back in college, at beautiful Lake Tahoe. Later he moved to Alaska where he began to produce for galleries. In 2000, he won the National Gold Medal for Pottery and Ceramics in the V.A. art competition. Scott specialized in Raku firing, a firing style that never produces the same results. As with anything in art, it will evolve and rise to new levels. In 2007 he switched mediums, from clay to wood. He is now taking the years of pottery experience and moved it into creating Hollow Form pieces. Each piece is selected for size, grain, and color. Each piece is finished in a clear coat, to maintain the true color and character of each piece of wood. In the future though we will have a line that has tinted coats that will cover a wide selection of colors. As like the pottery, each piece is a one of a kind.
The inspiration comes from the mountains and wildness, with all the beauty that it entails, as it is ever changing. Our goal is to maintain the highest level of quality and craftsmanship.
